3DSv2.0 will make a visible difference at the point of deposit when it comes to the experience of verifying payments. When a cardholder makes an online payment under the 3DSv2.0 protocol it generates over 100 data points, which are shared between the merchant and issuer which will provide the issuer with a much greater picture as to the validity of the transaction. The issuer uses this data to generate a more accurate risk profile of the payment than simple password authentication, making the payment more secure. The lack of friction that results from this change in procedure vastly improves the experience.
If 3DS is triggered during a deposit, you will be redirected to the issuing bank's dedicated page to complete an extra security step.
If you do not have access to the form of verification required from your bank to complete the transaction, (device, email or SMS) you will need to update these credentials with your bank or choose an alternative payment method.
